Danish brand Five Units takes familiar looks and twists them into something new and exciting. In womenswear that means a mash up of disco and work-wear. In the mix here were denim-look cotton dresses and elasticated all-in-ones along with long line vest tops and voluminous T-shirts. Sweetly tailored mini-shorts came in washed down cotton pastels with multi pleat details, while dance-inspired sweat tops came straight out of New York’s Fame academy. Remember cycling shorts? These were here too and displayed alongside leggings, they made sense on the rails. Both leggings and shorts came in shiny metallic two-tones, with silver fronts and pink backs or purple fronts and anthracite backs.
For men, there was a touch more restraint but there were details aplenty. Checked and denim style cotton shirts came with contrast jets on pockets, elbow patches, and reverse button down collars. Multi coloured buttons and subtle stitching enlivened gingham shirts, while other pieces included graphic placement T-shirts, checked knee shorts and heavy sweat hoodies with flapped kangaroo pockets.
Both men’s and women’s ranges had strong denim collections too, with light washes and coloured styles on mostly straight or slim legs.
