Man Fashion: 7 most popular type of shirts

MAN SHIRT, some of the most common trends are in collar, a button front or cuffed sleeves. The materials frequently made up in crisp fabrics like cotton.

Today, I am going to talk about 7 popular type of shirts that well received by male fashion world.

    Classic Long-Sleeved Dress Shirt

You really can’t go wrong with this, as long as you find the right matching color and pattern. Try to find something that doesn’t have any pockets, if you can, for smart casual. White is most preferred color as it is easily match with whatever pants, but almost any color will work.

However, the latest trend is black or other uncommon dark color, which is very popular in man fashion world, which was against those days where black is always related to mafia or gangsters.

You can mostly find this type in the business attire or smart casual wear.

    Short-Sleeved Dress Shirt

For men who want to look youthful and professional, the style is a way to dress colorfully while wearing a plain dress shirt. They're less serious, if you're not in a staid business environment.

So those are the basics. There are other shirt styles out there that may look good on you, but these are pretty much safe for anyone. My advice is to avoid anything flashy or trendy - they tend to get you noticed for the wrong reasons.

    Long-Sleeved Polo Shirt

The most classic and mannish. Just make sure you leave at least the top button undone, ha ha, otherwise this will look like a geek. It is well received with solid colors and jeans or khakis.

Tip: For jean, it is preferable to leave it un-tucked if this is not too long, but if wearing khakis, tuck it in.

    Short-Sleeved Polo Shirt

Again, classic and mannish, these come in a variety of fabrics and designs. These short-sleeved polo shirts are mostly suitable with jeans or khakis. Color strip or solid colors are both well received in man fashion world. Recently, it is also very popular in man and women sports world like golf.

    The Turtleneck

A round close-fitting neckline that comes up higher than a crew neck but not so high as a polo neck. This was initially design to suit winter weather in Western world, and it turned out to be fashionable style in male and female fashion world. Don't you dare laugh, this looks is really great. They come in a variety of fabrics, something nice and thick tends to suit every man.

    Classic Crew Neck T-Shirt

This is most well received by all age group. College t-shirts are fine, as long as they meet the other guidelines. Some prefer with pocket and others no, but I think they look better without. Most common colors are white and black, red is hot and yellow is fun. A nicely match t-shirt makes any man look twice as good! T-Shirts also gives men the choice of creating a ‘personal brand’. This means they can personalise the T-Shirt to their taste, political affiliations or personal thought, and this is getting common in teenage fashion world, and also well received by man in IT world, such as Steven Jobs of Apple, Larry Page and Sergey Brin of Google.

Tip: Make sure it fits your body, these don’t look good baggy.

    Classic Wife-Beater

Also known as A-shirts, they are usually worn by men, They are generally made for use as underwear, and generally have large sleeve holes and a large neck, down to near the chest. The term originates from frequent depictions in popular culture of aggressive American men, usually living in poor conditions and having low income, beating their wives and/or children while clad in this shirt.

Tip: Looks good on well-built fellas, pathetic on skinny fellas, and disgusting on fat beer bellied fellas

Earring for Man

    History

Ear ring, as a fashion accessory can track back to 19th century, whereby this was worn by male, and this can be seen in the carved images of the soldiers from various parts of the Persian Empire which are displayed on some of the surviving walls of the palace. Even in India, the earring worn by the children were mostly due to religion purpose.

So When earring was getting popular?
Particular click on earring, started to get popular among the ladies in 1920s in Western Europe, and only until late 1960s, ear piercing began to make inroads into the male world.
    Mostly amateur piercing wit
h safety pin was mostly well-liked in punk rock community. In 1980s, the trend for male famous music performers, eg. George Michael to have pierced ears helped establish a fashion trend for men, and this has been extended to athletes and show performers. These days, many men wear earrings in both ears, sometimes with more than one in each ear become norm in men fashion world. Most common type of earring that you can find in male ears are Stud and Hoop earrings.

    Stud earrings - The main feature of stud earrings is appearance of hanging on the ear or earlobe without a visible (from the front) point of connection. Studs are invariably constructed on the end of a post, which penetrates straight through the ear. Diamond studs are getting popular among the popular music performers and black community, think about it, dress casual or formal and still rock a diamond stud in very common in man fashion world now;

Hoop earrings – this is circular or semi-circular in design and looks very similar to a ring. They are often made of metal tubing, with a thin wire attachment penetrating the ear. The hollow tubing is permanently attached to the wire at the front of the ear, and slips into the tube at the back. Another type of hoop designs do not complete the circle, but penetrate through the ear in a post, using the same attachment techniques that apply to stud earrings.

So earrings are suitable in what situation?

Most of the men worked in entertainment industry and other creative fields have the freedom to wear whatever they choose. Whereas men in other professions are not encourage to wear their earrings when they go to work. For example, The National Basketball Association is strictly prohibit players from wearing jewelry of any kind while in uniform. When the game is over, athletes such as Michael Jordan wear earrings to complement their unique sense of style.

Earring is suitable for which age group?

In fact, there is no particular rule stated that only younger are suitable for earring. However, the unwritten rule of thumb seems to be that the older a man gets, the more discreet the jewelry becomes.

How you find the earring that suitable for yourself?

It is very simple, put them on, match with what you are going to wear and look at yourself in the mirror. Be honest, do you look silly or hot? Decide what you like and go with it.

Briefs vs. Boxers

Men’s wear fashion has been growing tremendously in recent years. The reasons for the significant growth are mainly due to the flow of information in Internet and media, leisure culture.

In additional to my earlier post, I will add on the elaborate more on men’s underwear, ie. briefs and boxers. This trend came in a long way, even respectable fashion house now offer briefs and boxers to contemporary male customer. (as I highlighted in my earlier posts)

The most primary difference between briefs and boxer is size and fit. Briefs are smaller and fit more snugly, thus they adhere to the shape of the body better. Boxers on the other hand fit more loosely and are found to be more comfortable by many men.

Briefs are considered the traditional male undergarment and suitable to most men with a slim or muscular build. Briefs also suitable for sports, under low cut jeans and under tight jeans or trousers. So if you the owner of six packs, muscular chests, firm thighs, briefs is definitely a “add on” fashion for you.

Boxer, on the other hand, provides too much coverage and therefore suitable for those overweight or tall and slim build gentlemen. Of course size cannot be judged in boxers, so obviously this is also a favourite for those not so endowed gentleman …ha..ha…just kidding!!

So ultimately is your choice, boxer or briefs will very much depend on your what you wear, and where you are going? What kind of activities are you carry out, such as sports, dinner, shopping, etc.Source URL: http://icip2idayusof.blogspot.com/2007/08/

Fashion Asia: Whats sexy in a man?

Fashion Asia: Whats sexy in a man?

Found a very interesting topic in this blog. What sexy in a man? What is the definition of sexy to guys?

According to Rekojuno from Yahoo! Anwers, definition of sexy differs from girl to girl. Different looks work for different guys. Some look great muscular, and others would look terrible that way but look incredible while slim. Mostly, the key is looking healthy. Really, most people are driven by instincts. Weird, but think about it, overweight people as well as too thin people are normally unattractive. Men like curves on women, which exists primarily for childbirth. Women like muscles because it shows that men are capable of taking care of them. But most likely, man just need to play up their natural traits and let women see their personality, confidence. That is sexy.

Others said “sexy man has to smell, walk, talk sexy (you just add in some imagination how to do all these). It's not just the face or the body it has to be everything. He is confident without being arrogant, he is strong without being vain, he's being sensitive without being soft”

So what are the traits that make man sexy? Here are some tips guys should watch out:-

    1. Masculinity

What a woman first notices is his anatomical assets but what lingers in her mind is not all that. It's his inherent masculinity. Well, is this sound familiar? It's in the way he languidly struts across the room with a show of adequacy and grace and the way he flashes the glint in his eyes that ultimately creates the spark. This will include the way he talks and walks that attract women’s attention.

Being masculine does not always suggest a large build but just the right amount of muscle without overdoing it, tanned out sorta to trigger women's instinctive feelings of attraction.

    2. Sense of Style and Fashion

Follow latest trend and style is what we called update. But you know what?

It's not the clothes that make a man sexy. It is actually how you bring up your apparel with confidence that does. Clothes don't tempt woman, it's you that makes those clothes look good in yourself that entice woman.

    3. Eye contact

Also known as higher level of communication! A man who knows how to have eye contact is a man who knows how to communicate. They want men to listen and to take heed of the things they say, or in short, they need affirmation. So guys!! Now you know why you always got blame for nothing when you are so concentrated on your sport channel while your girlfriend or wife is talking to you. Eye contact also makes a woman feel sufficiently attended to and cared for.

    4. Smile.

A simple sweet smile is one of the greatest attraction of a man. It will breaks a girl hidden resistance and also communicates hidden messages without any verbal language. This is why Tom Cruise, who is generous with his smile carried women-magnet profile!

    5. Sensitivity

So how sensitivity relate to sexy? Sensitivity here means having a sense of empathy, confidentiality, gentlemen and trust rolled into one. Sensitivity is not finding solution when woman confides something, but rather share your ear to listen to what they express.

    6. Sense of Humor

Sense of humour is the ability to experience humour, a quality which all people share, although the extent to which an individual will personally find something humorous depends on a host of absolute and relative

variables, including geographical location, culture, maturity, level of education, and context. it releases chemicals that create a sense of well-being, a man equipped with a good sense of humor automatically wins his points on the sexy scale with women.

    7. Confidence

Confidence is always the must, otherwise, you will not have the chance to attract woman. Confidence not necessary about appeal of wealth or power and it does not mean arrogant, it should always be self-assurance and self-esteem, that attract woman.

So guys, what is your secret weapon you think that attract your girlfriends? wife and girl community at large, do share with me here..............Source URL: http://icip2idayusof.blogspot.com/2007/08/

Hair Style Makeover?

When it comes to hair styles, there are so many different options today to make changes. You can change your color, add highlights, add layering and even add length or thickness with hair extensions to suit your characters and lifestyle. (if you want to!). Makeover is getting more and more popular recently even TV shows outline how makeover is done and dramatically change the hair styles.

So what is this makeover fuss all about? Makeovers cover color correction, which can be highlights, color, gloss and haircut or style, along with makeup application. The total process can take around 4 hours to complete.

One of the killing questions you will ask “…how damaged will my hair be after a color correction?" Believe it or not, color correction is not as damaging as it used to be. The old way of stripping hair color out with bleach is history. Modern day products allow hair stylists to remove 'artificial pigment' only, meaning that it will not open, damage, or split the cuticle of the hair in any way. This allows hairdressers to remove the most intense colors from hair, and allow it to be re-colored in the same appointment time.

You and your stylists might have different vocabularies. Hence, photos of styles that you like are very helpful to hair stylists. However, thanks to advance technology and internet, some stylists now do keeps a computer at their work station to look up hair styles online (such as a past hair style of a celebrity) if you do not have photos or cannot remember certain styles you like. The computer eliminates the need for bulky portfolio books.

To get more comfort, do remember to discuss with stylist what it will take to get the your current hair to that new hair style. Most of the time the exact cut and color are achieved in one day. But for some of you that are growing yours hair out may take several months and appointments to reach your overall goal.Source URL: http://icip2idayusof.blogspot.com/2007/08/

Backpack is a trend or necessity?? Any comment?

As men's clothing shifted from baggy and comfortable to well cut and restricting, a new dilemma arose for well dressed men across the globe: what to do with all the things we carry in our pockets. While women pack their handbags full with makeup and receipts, men surprisingly carry a lot of things; we've got our keys, wallet, checkbook, PDA, bluetooth devices packing our pockets to the brim. This is something that hadn't been dealt with since the '80s, with cell phones the size of cinderblocks, and the best solution they came up with then was the neon colored "fanny pack."

But there was a serious dilemma. Backpacks were too large, briefcases were for office papers, fanny packs were too retro, and purses were for women. The re-emergence of the messenger bag brought the perfect solution--a fusion of briefcase and purse, while still large enough to be "manly." Yet, ever since the messenger bag became an accepted carrying device for men, the size of these messenger bags has steadily decreased in both volume and area. Now, more than ever, men's bags are crossing the line of masculinity and entering into the realm of purses.

While one could argue along with Jerry Seinfeld, that it's simply a "men's European carryall," the man-purse at your hip is what it is. And don't think you're getting away with using the ever-popular designer fanny pack or daypack, as I once overheard someone calling it. It's simply a glorified purse, and you know it.

So, what's the solution you ask? I'll leave it entirely up to you. If you think you can pull off the man-purse look, just make sure the balance between messenger bag and purse is leaning towards messenger bag. Also remember, the more leather, canvas, and sporty the bag, the more masculine it will appear. Of course, another option would be to simply consolidate your wallet, checkbook, credit cards, etc. so they don't take up so much room in your pants. One unique, effective, and classy way to do this is to use a large slim cigarette box or business card holder in which you can keep all your paper, coins, and cards. Check out some antique stores, tobacco shops, or leather goods stores in order to find the perfect one for you.Source URL: http://icip2idayusof.blogspot.com/2007/08/

Choose Your Watch

Watch, a most single piece of accessory that represent male, his characters, hobby and of course his wealth too. A design of watch can range from very fun/fashionable to classic and prestige. As time go by, there are getting more and more models, designs for different occasion, activities and even different purposes to suit different taste of people. Choosing a watch that suits might be a difficult and headache task for some if not everyone here. What is the preferred watch for someone else has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on what would be the preferred or optimal watch for other. Hence, the following tips are just some of my thoughts on how to choose a perfect piece.

So what is the right watch for you?

What do you normally get up to during the week and weekends? Do you intend to buy multiple watches or are you looking for one that can cover it all?

    Find out the needs?

    - Do you wear the watch for workdays or is it for the weekend or specific activity or is it the one watch for everything?

    - What kind of attire during your workdays? Formal or smart casual?
    - If you're getting the watch more for weekend or other activities, then the question is what are these activities? Pulling at the pub, clubbing, diving, swimming, jogging, skiing etc

What are the features you are looking for?

    - Overall design, the case shape, dial layout and intricacies, color and look of the hands
    - Size: tiny, medium, large or a clock on the wrist
    - Prestige or beauty or uniqueness in its inner workings

    - Story, romanticism, classicism, history
    - Refined or ru
    gged or swings both ways
    - Certain key functions you are looking for (see appendix at the end of this post)
    - Exclusivity (you want to be the only one you see with it or you like being part of a community or somewhere in between)
    - Fancy things about it, gadgety stuff about it

Price Range Buy only if you are affordable. Do consider the other commitments such as family expenses, mortgage, car payments etc before even setting your sights on a potential next acquisition. Don't spend above your means.

If possible, always look for those with good re-sale value, if you are regret on what you just bought, it still can demand a good second hand value.

    Impulse Purchase

Don’t rush if possible. Don’t buy on impulse.

Styleforum Jeans: An experiment in user-generated design

Users participation is nothing new in corporate world, but this is uncommon in fashion and denim is definitely not one of them. Styleforum jeans, created by collaboration between the titular forum and New York label 5EP, were born in January when a user known as "LA Guy" proposed the idea to the company's co-owner, Christine Rucci. Her resulting post requesting suggestions elicited both keepers (shorter front pocket bags to keep the silhouette clean) and nonstarters (stitching around the fly to enhance the wearer's package). And despite the volume of input—the initial post had more than 400 replies—the results are commendably straightforward: a lower-rise, slimmed out version of 5EP's boot-cut jeans, handmade from raw Japanese selvage. Only 200 will be made—eight have extra-long inseams for taller wearers—with all but 60 earmarked for forum members and Denim Bar, who helped produce them. "They can even tell when I've made the slightest variations in fabrics," Rucci says of her new codesigners. "Those guys are up on everything."

How you wear in an interview?

Assume you have one interview appointment tomorrow and you have prepared yourself well for the occasion - anticipating the questions and getting ready the answers. However, have you given a thought to what you will wear?

If you have not peeked into your wardrobe yet, it's time to take a real hard look now. Your application's fate depends not just on how well you answer the interview questions, but most importantly also on how well you project yourself physically, ie. “Hello” effect. The way a person dresses is the single biggest non-verbal communication you make about yourself.

The right dressing is a measure of the seriousness that you place on the position, as a person normally spends time on his looks if he considers an event important enough.

Although proper dressing by itself will not get you the job, but a poor dress sense definitely votes you out for further consideration, of course there will always be some exceptions. Besides, given two equally good applicants, the company may choose to hire the person who is dressed more professionally.

After go through the initial discussion, here come some tips to you to get started.

    • Long-sleeved shirt and dark slacks. White is still the safest and the best color for shirts. The colour is also appropriate for our tropical weather. Also acceptable: pale shades such as beige, blue, and other pastels. Tuck in the shirt and do not roll up the sleeves. Never wear a short-sleeved shirt to an interview or any business purpose. Wearing a short-sleeved shirt will destroy your executive image.
    • Ties. Choose a conservative pattern. Solids, small polka dots, diagonal stripes, small repeating shapes, subtle plaids and paisleys are all acceptable.

    • Belts. Belts should match your shoes. Those with smaller buckles with squared lines look more professional.

    • Shoe and Socks. Black Shoe and socks are the best or any dark color shoe and socks. Never wear white socks! Check your sock length, too--no skin should show when you sit down or cross your legs. Shoes. Black or burgundy leather shoes with laces on them, because tassel loafers are very casual. Other suitable colors are brown, cordovan and navy.

    • Hair. Keep neat, short and preferably parted on the side. And shave off all those facial hair.

    • Jewellery. Wear no or little jewellery. The watch and wedding ring are the only acceptable pieces of jewellery to go with the male attire. Thin gold or leather-strapped watches look professional but not digital watches. Also, avoid political or religious insignias, necklaces or bracelets. Definitely no pierced body parts and cover up your tattoos!

    • Accessories. As much as possible, use leather briefcases or folders to hold copies of your resume. Use narrow briefcases and avoid plastic folders and plastic ball pens as they are out of place.
    • Confident. The finishing part of the whole attire, be confident on your self and carry a good looking smile on your face.

Louis Vuitton Fashion Show SS 2008

Earlier with blue sea, and now with blue skies............... The Theme "Blue skies, smiling at me, nothing but blue skies…" Irving Berlin's golden oldie anticipated the dominant color on the men's catwalks for Spring 2008, and the joie de vivre he was describing when he penned the lyric seems to be have infected the season—first in Milan, and now Paris. Paul Helbers, Marc Jacobs' menswear maestro at Louis Vuitton, launched the label's latest presentation with a passage that was cheery blue, from cap to carryall.
