Shabby Preppy Shirts courtesy of Gitman Bros

Though established thirty-two years ago, Gitman Bros is one of those American brands that seems to have been around forever. In the States, the shirt supplier has a fairly conservative image and a consumer following populated by big blokes with loud voices, but internationally the brand is hastily recruiting a more trend-savvy fanbase who can't get enough of the brand's more recent foray into laundered cottons and narrower proportions.
The classic Gitman Bros collar shape - with its broadly spread button-down shape - remains visible although armholes are cut higher and sleeves and bodies are much slimmer than the main US collection. Standout fabrics for autumn 2010 include poplin tartans, Oxford stripes and heavy chambray.
The brand has already been picked up by menswear agency Egomark in the UK and wholesale prices range from £40 to £55.
