Alexander Boyd Presents First Tailoring Collection

Now in its second season, all-British contemporary formalwear brand Alexander Boyd extends its reach beyond detail-rich shirting to take in outerwear, soft tailoring and trousers.
A soft woollen semi-structured blazer in dark blue with a polka dot half-lining shares railspace with subtly tapered trousers cut slim. An impressive coat collection has long or short peacoats in puppytooth wools with storm collars and reinforced cuffs alongside form-fitting trench coats in black or tonic with traditional military-inspired features such as hanging belt loops. Shirts remain a particular strength for Alexander Boyd with this season's highlights including narrow collared styles in pin dots, herringbones, checks and plains. Eyecatching details include contrast fabrics on back panels, subtle contrast trims and exposed placket tabs (a feature originally designed to allow dress shirts to be attached to the waistband of trousers for a clean front-facing finish). Ties with 5cm wide blades are squared off at the narrow end, as are bow ties whcih for the second season remain a recurring theme throughout Pitti Uomo.
Fashion Buyer UK's favourite piece has to be the pull-on flannel shirt in a herringbone weave with a three-button placket.
Wholesale prices range from £45 to £300. For more information call 020 7377 8755 or visit http://www.alexanderboyd.co.uk/Source URL: http://icip2idayusof.blogspot.com/2010/01/alexander-boyd-presents-first-tailoring.html
