OK, so this is the first of the trends Chris Gilbert isolated for autumn 10. We've tweaked them a little to concentrate on the themes and details that dominate the looks. And for this one the shorthand is simple: think remixed Sloane Ranger. Gilbert alludes to the 1950s with A-line skirts and to equestrian themes with jodhpurs in the sportswear mix. Details include toggles, neutral coloured leathers and fur trims. Fabrics are plaids and tweeds, shearling, leather and suede alongside soft handle knits. Colours are luxurious camel and the red of hunting pinks set against a background of grey. Brigadoon-style checks and alpine intarsias spice up this preppy look.
