Thirteen years ago, Staple founder Jeff Ng was spotted in the Triple Five Soul boutique wearing his own hand-printed T-shirt and was subsequently offered an order for 12 designs by the boutique owner. Since then Jeff has grown the range into a complete menswear collection with the sort of attention to detail and considered designs that is so key to discerning punters right now. Plaid scarves, black varsity jackets with texture contrast sleeves, corduroy hunting jackets and Henley knits are in the range along with sweats and button-down shirts. Rugby shirts come with penny-round collars and extra long plackets. Alongside rugby, influences come from the well-heeled sporting worlds of yachting, hunting and fishing.
The brand is represented in the UK and as soon as we dig out the contact details, we'll post them here. Until then you can get in touch directly on info@stapledesign.com or if your phone bill can take the trans-Atlantic stretch, call 001 212 979 8020.Source URL: http://icip2idayusof.blogspot.com/2010/04/new-yorker-cool-from-staple.html
