US themes have swollen on the menswear rails over the last two seasons with all manner of collegiate and preppy looks taking pride of place. But these were toned down in Topman’s autumn 10 show and in their place was a mash-up of the North American Great Outdoors and a revival of Seattle grunge mixed in with touches of sports utility. Washed plaids and corduroy shirts appeared in throw-me-on proportions with tapered trousers and kitsch knits.
