New York Fashion Week: Barbara Tfank's womanly silhouette

Bear with us we go back to New York and a catch up with Barbara Tfank, one designer who has had a stellar year seducing the US first lady Michelle Obama into one of her box pleat floral dresses, meanwhile rounding up a celebrity fan base as diverse as actress Vanessa Redgrave and singer Adele. For spring 11 the designer’s signature conservative silhouettes were typically ultra feminine, as much Wisteria Lane as White House, and in a sophisticated pastel palette from shimmering silks to florals. Tfank also upped the roster of her own-design prints including the black and white geometric pictured here. Bandeau tops were mere props designed to showcase full skirts and high-waisted trousers but the youthful edge to that styling was appropriate with the Mad Man look so influential right now.Source URL: http://icip2idayusof.blogspot.com/2010/09/new-york-fashion-week-barbara-tfank.html
