Seil Marschall is a German family business that came to life in 1896. Its no-fuss approach to outdoorswear is fine by us and as a fourth generation company that sticks closely to its motto - "Our best machines will always be our hands", - there's both an artisanal quality to the gear and a fairly limited amount of stock.
So it's a genuine outdoors company and it shows. Check out the website at seil-marschall-shop.de which showcases a rdiculous breadth of stock. For us though, the duck boots are stand-outs and could represent a move on from the hikers that are emerging for men's footwear now.
The woollen satchels and duffel bags are bang on too. Vegetable tanned leathers and reinforced handles make them as functional as they are beautiful. Even among the glittering oysterbed of fashion that makes up the wares in the LOCK hall at Bread and Butter, Seil Marschall shone brightly. And that makes it special indeed.
