Womenswear spring 11 colour report: Bridal whites

White, white and white came through on a flurry of lace, sheers and simple tailoring - three trends that refuse to budge. That’s right, the catwalks are nothing if not contrary and after the brights come the whites. Dolce and Gabbana wanted to evoke a sense of hope – and what is more hopeful than an excited bride to be? That feeling of new beginnings was conjured with sheer white lace dresses, wedding night baby-dolls and broderie anglaise jackets. Luxury Italian brand Brioni echoed the look: sheer white lace dresses revealing nothing but white shorts underneath, white lace tops complemented with white tailoring and it all floated alongside white wide leg trousers and kaftan dresses. An oh so romantic yet simple mood. Come the summer it will all look fresh in your windows and a tie in with your local dry cleaners may be on the cards.
