From wooden-soled summer sandals and zip-strapped flats to nude-toned heels and snakeskin-finished wedges, Kurt Geiger serves up a runway-inspired mix of trends with lashings of detail-strewn wow factor.
At its wildest, 1960s psychedelic oil-print wedges appear alongside ballet pumps in the same finish, and solid-heeled skyscraper wedge sandals in bright primary summer shades. More commercial and sophisticated is Geiger’s range of peep-toed heels in powdery shades of nude, lilac, lemon and blush. Highlights include a black peep-toed mid-height boot with a cutaway heel and contrast yellow straps snaking around the height of the boot and attached to the underside of the sole, as well as a peep-toed leather stiletto featuring a gold zip detail following the seam of the shoe’s mouth.
Over on the men’s side Kurt Geiger has signed two high profile collaborative ranges for spring 10. The first tie-up is with Northampton shoe supplier Trickers. The Kurt Geiger by Trickers collection revolves around an eye-catching reinterpretation of Trickers’ classic country brogue, updated by contrasting canvas sections with leather – colourways include olive and black, tan and dark brown, and dark brown and black.
The second, with boat shoe originator Sebago, reinvents the brand’s classic Docksider with an ankle boot in a variety of contrast colours. The KG range backs up the casual side of the business with a broad array of sports-inspired hybrids, double-strapped canvas ankle boots, and suede driving shoes with a double-fringed bib available in a myriad of colours.
The main Kurt Geiger collection is driven by subtly shaped classic styles including Oxfords and wingtip brogues in antique-finished leathers. Sitting comfortably alongside brands including NDC, the range features rustic suedes and a palette of classic blacks and browns alongside neutrals such as chalky whites and industrial greys.
