Tao Kurihara is a Japanese fashion designer, was born in 1973. She took an international attention in Paris the year succeeding the show of her own collection in 2005. Kurihara declared that this spring 2011 ready to wear is the last collection and the end of the “Tao Comme de Garçons” brand, which was launched during Paris Fashion Week, and she will concentrate and direct her efforts at “Tricot Comme des Garçons” brand which is shown in Tokyo twice a year.
Tao the creator designer ended her brand by an unforgotten show, inspired by Miss Honey, the drag queen!!! This collection contains a variety of maxi and midi dresses and skirts, wide full-length pants, three quarter pants similar to the horse riding ones, jackets, blouses and shirts. Mainly all designs took an innovative draped look with English embroidery and embroidered daisies. The designer used chiffon, silk and lace fabrics. One of the remarkable designs in this collection is the amazing empire cut which give a very feminine look, also polka dots which are back in fashion once again.
These designs are more suitable for tall and skinny women. Regarding the color palette, it was so limited including purple, pale pink, black and white which they were the master colors. Finally, Kurihara put the final touch to these dresses by Marie Antoinette hairstyles, elaborate headdresses and Mary Jane flat shoes.
