While plenty of directional womenswear brands are backing shorts and trousers for autumn 10 and into spring 11, the dress remained the biggest style at Moda. And while there was no real category killer at the NEC show, the maxi was the most visible style and it will without doubt continue into next summer as a commercial option for mainstream boutique buyers. Plenty of prints were deployed by brands in Birmingham and while florals were the most popular, there were also smudged watercolours, oil prints and marbled looks on offer too.
