Womenswear key styles: lace

The lace trend ticks so many boxes. Hard yet soft; girly yet grown up; wintry yet summery. And best of all it’s not going away yet, and the Milanese catwalks pointed to a spring 11 prettily clothed in white lace. But with Fashion Buyer’s unrelenting impatience holding sway we can’t quite wait that long.




So for autumn 10, here are some pieces you can get into your stores right now from some of our fast fashion favourites. There’s still a gothic edge to these heirloom-a-likes, on layered and sleeve detail dresses with some skirts getting in on the act too, while sheer tops are as sexy as you style them.




Though it’s a predominately black trend for the winter season, there are some neutrals and even some sumptuous jewellery styles coming through.

Always glamorous and Forever Unique

Now three months into its new London showroom, Fashion Buyer felt it was time to catch up with the Foerever Unique collection. And the 300 piece range looks as glam and party-ready as ever. Its haul of super sexy dresses has grown up somewhat, and while its silhouettes are occasionally slinky and there is still plenty of embellishment, this is a democratically designed range with plenty of knee length pieces to appeal across a wide age range.
Shoulder embellishments, ruched and draped fabrics and pleated chiffons all hit hot trend buttons and the palette ranges from sophisticated olive to in-your-face blue and hot fuchsia, which are already inspiring repeat orders. Lacy layers and body-contouring mesh styles both take their inspiration from influential catwalk collections, while shaggy gilets and embellished jersey pieces add new strings to the Forever Unique bow.
London sales manager Libby Allan emphasised the timings of the quick Christmas range to come, with what she calls "stunning silk maxi kaftans bringing a touch of Cavalli" to the party season. These will be hitting the showroom mid to late November for two-week deliveries.
