Pitti Uomo kicks off the autumn '11 season

With the early morning drizzle fading into the distant splendour of the Tuscan hills, the international throng of meticulously preened menswear buyers were welcomed to the autumn 11 edition of Pitti Uomo under uncharacteristically azure winter skies.
As ever, Pitti Uomo promises plenty. The return of Boss, a European launch of Arrow's full lifestyle collection, Gareth Pugh on the main catwalk, and Adam Kimmel's debut collaboration with Carhartt. Add Pitti's growing brew of directional artisan-led menswear, its traditional Italian tailoring players and the failsafe mix of British heritage brands and the show seems set to deliver plenty of start-line nadrenalin for the upcoming buying season.
Over the next few days the Fashion Buyer team will not only report on the most inspirational collections but also the biggest looks and trends set to ignite fashion sales next autumn.
