Despite hotfooting it from the Stockholm stock exchange and into Swiss ownership in 2008, lifestyle brand Gant has always clung on, white knuckled, to its American roots. With that in mind, for autumn 10 the brand has ushered in a capsule created by New York designer and ex-fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman, Michael Bastian.
With the range based on the bone-breaking sport of lacrosse. Key pieces are a washed moleskin military pea coat, down-filled jackets and softly structured tailored blazers. Chunky hand-knit sweaters are mixed with jacquard and intarsia crew necks. Shirts? Expect multi-pockets in oxford cloth, poplin and flannel. These complement fitted embroidered corduroys, destroyed denim and chinos. Sporty styles include rugbys, polos, and mesh gym shorts.
This range kicks off in Selfridges this season but may roll out further. And in Spring 11, Bastian has confirmed he will create a womenswear capsule.Source URL: https://icip2idayusof.blogspot.com/2010/06/gant-earns-its-stars-and-stripes.html
